In order to answer the question: "How does Mystic Messenger work?" we have to take a look at this multi-faceted and highly evolved epic in spiritual and religious tradition. Rika has three major characters; a warrior maiden, her wise and holy teacher, and an evil demon that try to destroy Rika and her friends. This story is told throughout the epic.

Rika's father, along with his people are killed by demons. The father's spirit however is not able to join his daughter's soul who goes on to create seven characters to carry on her quest to become a goddess. These seven characters are called Miri, Kefira, Amanit, Krile, Teluk, and Hagalaz. The role of each character is important to Rika and her friends as they traverse the game's many levels.

Miri is the most basic of the group of seven characters in how does mystic messenger works. As the game progresses, she develops more as a character until she finally transforms into Rika. She is also the most kind-hearted character as she cares deeply for the well-being of everyone under her watch. This kind-heartedness makes her the most likeable character in the game. She shows empathy towards her enemies and the helpless state of her enemies as well.

How Does Mystic Messenger Work?

Since she is the main playable character in the game, I will discuss her in particular. First off, her name is Rika and she is the female protagonist. In order for the game to progress, one of the first things the player will experience is the introspective journey in which they ponder on their past and future. With this introspection comes remembrance of their past romantic adventures and traumas. In particular, the memories of the love interests of the players will be contemplated.

Through the course of the game, we will witness several events and romance developments involving our protagonist. The events will progress when certain conditions are met. These conditions are actually the basic mechanics of the game flow. The scenes where Kim becomes the star of the story will happen as Kim has various romantic moments throughout the game. The player has the liberty of choosing which scenes they want to be part of; however, the events are predetermined.

When the player finally makes their way through the story, a special sequence called the final riddle scene awaits them. The final riddle scene is the last challenge before the player can advance to the next stage. During the final riddle scene with Rika, she reveals to the hero (you) the reasons for his love affair with her. Here, Kim offers help to Rika in order for her to get out of her troubled relationship with Chines. In return, the hero agrees to help Chines take on Rika in their next challenge, and that is when the game begins to get heated between them.

Throughout the game, you'll encounter several endings, and all of them are possible due to the random nature of the game. However, not all of these endings are possible due to certain plot twists. In some endings, the heroine's good or evil actions are deterred by an unseen force. As the player makes choices that affect the plot, certain outcomes are revealed. Therefore, in the case of the Zen and the Tower of Eternity, and the Legend of Zelda, the game's endings are decided by the decisions of the players.

On the other hand, there is also what I call the normal or common ending. This is what you will be playing with when you finish the game after completing one of the story's sub-plots. The common ending is the reason why I prefer it. I find the format of the game to be smooth, the game progresses consistently without sudden starts and stops, and the overall story is easy to follow. Besides, you can always pick your favorite choice and continue playing; you don't have to undergo the boring, repetitive, and tedious decision making process of answering questions on every sub-plot.
